I've been trying to get my stupid travel blog up and running and it was perfect and then I notice that all the links I had were not showing up when I viewed the site. I cannot see any reason why it's not showing. Visit Journey Home and see if you see anything on the right hand side that says links. If not theny I have no clue what is wrong with it. It was up and then not.
That blog will be how I will log my time in Ireland so check there first before here. I may copy and paste the information here as well, but I might only have time to update that one. It's easier to post pictures and other stuff on there so for a travel blog I like wordpress better.
Also I will post the address if anyone wants to send me mail while I am in Ireland. I will probably only be sending postcards via mail, but that doesn't mean you cannot send me letters. I should be able to keep in touch with e-mail no problem, but I am not sure if I will have my own laptop (my brother still haven't given me his old one and probably never will). There is a computer lab at the apartments, but I know I will feel bad if I hog it up for doing nothing all that important.
Last night was our first orintation meeting for the trip. Mostly it was for us to get to know who was going, the staff and do paperwork. I found out that I got a $500 scholarship for my trip which will go to my tution which is $405 and due by may. I will have to ask them what I need to do. I forgot to ask when they had my sign the paperwork saying I accept the award. I did not think I would get anything after they had already annouced about 8 winners a few weeks ago.
I talked with Dr. Aldrige who was my English teacher few semesters ago. She reconized me as one of her students, but could not remember my name. She kept asking me if I was excited for the trip. I told her that I was and that I had been doing lots of reading from travel books and podcasts to get ready.
I met a few people who would be going and everyone seems nice and excited, but I guess we'll see how things go when we are all over in Ireland. I met one girl who will be taking the Irish History class as well so I know at least one person in my class. They also had us fill out a personality survey to help they match us with flat mates. I am not too picky about who I am with, but did say female flat mates only because I feel safer that way.
