Tonight me and my mom went to an information meeting on the Ireland and English study abroad trips at the Red Mountain campus. I had forgotten all about it until she called me on my way home from school. It was a nice meeting, but very few people came. I am not sure how well they are advertising the trip, I have seen more fliers for other trips and not the Britain trips. The head of both trips were there, they showed us pictures of the different sites and had a few of the other teachers who were teaching class come and talk about their classes. I wish that I could go to both Ireland sessions, but I am not sure how I could afford it. I also decided that I would apply for the scholarship and see if Zona (the advisor who is in my yoga class) will write my letter of rec. Other than here I am not sure if Dr. Ohl or Bonnie would be much help. I also need to write a letter of intent and a letter of need to tell the board why I need the scholarship.
My mom seemed interested in it and asked me what classes I wanted to take while in Ireland. I told her I wasn't 100% sure, but it will help that I heard about. I also found the syllibus for those classes so I can have a better idea of what I will be getting myself into. Only one other person at the meeting was looking into the Ireland trip, she seemed to be around 18 with well off parents. I could tell with the way they asked about the scholarship and if you had to have the need for it.
They mentioned that each room had high speed internet and that we could bring our own computers to use. While I do not have a laptop it would be nice to have one to use instead of using the ones in the computer lab in the apartments. I am not holding my breath that one will magically land in my lap before I leave, but maybe for a graduation gift someone will give me one. The only thing is that I am not sure if bring one will be worth the hassle while there.
According to the website ASU claims to not have my high school transcript. I called RM about a week ago and they said that it would take 6-8 weeks for ASU to go over my transcripts, but I think they would note if they got it. I cannot find the letter they sent me and that had the application number that I need when I call to confirm that they got it. I guess if another week goes by I will have to call and ask them if they did receive it and then call RM again to let them know it never got there.
I got my first math test back, 80% which was above the average. I made a few mistakes that I might not of made if... well I am not sure. I probably would have made them no matter what. At least I am not lost of confused like I was last semester with Dr. Payne.
