So my new computer is on it's way, but it's coming from a place I was not expecting. I assume it was coming from somewhere in the US. I was very wrong, it's come from Shanghai China. I've never ordered a computer or any other big electronic item before, but I honestly did not expect it to come from overseas. I assume they had some location in the US where they would send it from.
Right now Fed Ex tells me it's in transit in China, not sure if that means it's on a plane to the US, or if it is traveling to the airport. They are also a day ahead so I am not sure exactly when to expect it. They say I'll get it by September 5th. I have no problem getting it by that date, but I want it now and need to get it set up before I head up to Oregon.
So my trip to Eugene will take us through L.A. Pretty much the same route I took to get to Menzies, but we will head more north to get to Eugene. This means we get to drive through Palm Springs and go through the Wind Farm. That is always creepy, you feel like you are in some alien world. Doesn't help that there is nothing in the area.
I am sure my friends in Sac, will not be happy to hear I am driving through and not stopping by. For one thing I will be with my mom, and also we have other plans (I think) of where we will stop. I know we will take a stop in LA to rest and she wants to stop in Medford,OR to visit that Harry & David orchard. Yeah the guys who send you those cataloges around Christmas time.
I haven't been focusing on my roommate or how I will do with meeting people. I don't want to start worrying myself silly with what could or could not happen. I have to stop assuming things will happen and just let them happen. I do hope to have friends while there, it will make things a little bit easier on me. Though to be honest, I do not expect to stay in Oregon for grad school. That's my idea for right now. I think my final move will be to California.
Also not sure if I will stick with marine biology. I have some desire to do it, but at the same time I cannot see myself doing it as a career. The whole scientific process of trying to figure out what is going on in the world and so on. I am looking at minoring in History, but may change if the marine biology thing doesn't work out. I know my parents will be annoyed because that is why I went to Oregon, for marine biology.
I really need to make an appointment to get my hair cut. It's getting a little crazy and I should do it before I leave for Oregon.
