Satuday was the party at work, I got dressed in my cute new dress, found cute black Mudd Mary Jane heels, a duster (the coat not the car) and a nice antique looking black lace purse. I do not have pictures, but I looked cute, the best I have felt about myself in a long time. I arrived at Brian's house at 5 p.m. liked we planned. His mom was giving him a hard time about not being dress warmed enough and looked at me and told me I would be could. I told her that I would, but I could deal with it.
We made our way to the zoo and sat on a bench at the Savanna waiting for more people to come. Most of the animals were in their night houses, but we has a 5 year old boy pretending to shoot us and the animals with the telescope. Soon more of my co-workers came and we all had trouble reconizing each other. We do not see each other dressed up, hair done, make-up or anything that would be described as looking semi-formal.
Jake finally came to greet us and take us to the train that would take us to the tents. He gave a little tour, but we wanted him to make things up. We made our way up the path to a nicely set up Desert Tents. The first tent had food from Moe's Mexican Resturant, the middle had tables with black table cloths and the thrid has desserts. Me and Brian sat at a table with mostly the older instructors and later Matt and his date joined us. The food was good, they even has grilled tofu for the vegetarians. It was good and I even saw Brian and other omnis try it.
I did not try dessert I wasn't full, but I just did not feel like eating sweet food. After two hours at the tents we decided to leave and walk around zoo lights. We left after walking around, and me with a left foot that was a little sore. After we made it to his house and I got in my car I decided to make a stop at Wal-Mart.I had so many people looking at me, mostly because no one goes in there dressed up so nicely.
I made my second tofu dish of my life the other day. I made the mango-ginger tofu from Vegan with a Vengance. Now like usually I did not follow it completely, I made a few changes. It was pretty good. Not my favorite, but good enough to have again. I also made a vegan rasin colslaw. I bought some prepackaged broccoli coleslaw, rasins and veganise. I mixed them in a bowl, chilled for a hour and now I have tastey coleslaw.
I have been trying to cook at least once a week, but it is still hard with no room to do any preparing. That is what is keeping me from being able to cook.
I guess that's it.
